Katie
Katie started her nursing education in London in 2008 achieving a Diploma and subsequently a BSc honours degree in Children’s nursing. After achieving her qualifications Katie progressed to a Senior Staff nurse at Great Ormond Street Hospital, where she gained extensive experience in nursing children in protective isolation, receiving haematopoietic stem cell transplants for life-threatening cancers, immunological, rheumatological and metabolic disorders. Katie also cared for young patients receiving novel CAR T-cell therapy.
Katie is incredibly passionate about nursing and aims to provide unwavering support to families during their most challenging times. As both a paediatric oncology CNS and our clinic coordinator, Katie is committed to working with children and their families as part of the Synthesis Clinic team, to support implementation of our personalised care plans and to provide evidence based information and guidance on the range of treatments and therapies that can be offered to improve quality of life of children, teens and young adults.
Specialist Childhood Cancer Survivorship Service Consultations
We are a Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered service for children and young adults, and we offer medical, nursing and testing services. Our non-medical supportive care services, including nutrition, physiotherapy and art therapy, are also all available to book alongside the medical support or as a stand alone service with appointments available online and on-site in Berkshire near Reading. Our paediatric integrative oncology clinic is also within easy reach of Surrey, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire and South Oxfordshire.
